Mac Mic Land has reached another significant milestone with the submission of an outline planning application for a new mixed-use development at Downend, north of Bridgwater, Somerset.
The proposals seek consent for up to 410 new homes, including a commitment to deliver at least 30% affordable housing, alongside a new commercial building, extensive green infrastructure and areas of public open space.
Located on the northern edge of Bridgwater, the site offers an opportunity to deliver a sustainable new neighbourhood that responds to local housing need while supporting the area's continued economic growth. The development is strategically positioned close to nationally significant employment hubs, including the Gravity Smart Campus at Puriton and Hinkley Point C, providing future residents with access to a wide range of jobs and opportunities.
Designed to create a high-quality gateway into Bridgwater from the north, the proposals place a strong emphasis on landscape, green infrastructure and connectivity. New green spaces and environmental enhancements will help create an attractive and well-integrated community, delivering benefits for both new and existing residents.
Mac Mic Land would like to thank everyone involved in bringing the proposals forward, including the South West team of Richard Kelso, Michael Gooch and John Rhys Davies, together with Clodagh Meegan Macken and the wider team at Carney Sweeney.
